FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does an initial visit consist of?

A thorough history and physical exam are performed, so that we can diagnose the exact nature of your health problem, and determine if it will respond to Chiropractic therapy. X-rays will be taken only if the doctor feels it is medically necessary. The examination typically consists of posture analysis, range of motion evaluation, orthopedic and neurological testing and motion palpation of the area of complaint. Once proper examination has been performed, treatment of your condition will follow.

What does a typical office visit consist of?

At our clinic, we feel it is important to spend time working with our patients, one-on-one, addressing all components of the musculoskeletal system. We will utilize the appropriate physiotherapeutic modalities (i.e. diathermy, ultrasound, EMS, traction etc.) as well as perform soothing massage and specialized muscle release techniques to relax and balance the muscular and ligamentous soft tissues. Relaxation of these soft tissues will assist in a comfortable chiropractic adjustment procedure if indicated. Treatment typically lasts for 30-40 minutes.

Is an adjustment painful?

We frequently hear that our adjustments are quite comfortable. It is our goal to provide you with the best care available. We take time to relax your body and mind, so that we can perform an effective yet comfortable adjustment procedure. We are aware that initially some patients may be apprehensive about the adjustment, and we are sensitive to this. Therefore, we have a variety of techniques to suit your specific needs.

If I receive chiropractic care, will I have to come back forever?

We often see patients because they are experiencing a painful episode. However, most non-traumatic episodes of pain can be avoided with preventative maintenance care. Just as you would see the dentists periodically for a cleaning to prevent a cavity, we suggest periodic maintenance care. This allows for proper mobility, proper posture and balance of your body, decreasing the likely hood of degenerative conditions that cause pain, loss of mobility and abnormal posture. Ultimately, we will make recommendations, and you decide what’s best for you. You will not be pressured to receive extended, ongoing care in our office if that is not what you desire.

PAYMENT METHODS

Our office believes that you deserve all treatment options available to you, not just what insurance decides to cover. Therefore we provide reasonable flat rates that cover all treatment modalities. If you so desire, we can provide you with a detailed receipt to submit to your insurance should you wish. Payment methods accepted: cash, check, MC/Visa, AMEX, and Discover at the time of service. Additional discounts for pre-payment of visits are also available.
